Unveiling the Working Principle of Miniature Melt Metering Pumps
Miniature melt metering pumps, the little helpers in plastic processing! How exactly do they work? Come with me and let's uncover the mystery!
Structural Components:
Miniature melt metering pumps are mainly composed of pump bodies, driving gears, driven gears, sliding bearings, front and rear end plates, packing seals, and other components. These parts work in precise coordination to accomplish the task of melt conveyance.
Working Principle:
Feeding Stage: When the driving gear rotates, it drives the driven gear to turn as well. Melt enters through the feed inlet and fills the tooth spaces of the two gears.
Conveying Stage: As the gears rotate, the melt is drawn into the conveying zone from both sides. During this process, the melt is subjected to the squeezing and shearing action of the gears, causing the pressure to gradually increase.
Discharging Stage: When the gears mesh again, the melt in the tooth spaces is extruded from the discharging zone and conveyed to the next processing stage through the outlet pipe.

Flow Control:
The flow rate of miniature melt metering pumps is strictly proportional to the pump's rotational speed. By precisely controlling the motor's rotational speed, accurate metering and stable control of the melt flow rate can be achieved.
Advantages:
High-Precision Metering: Ensures stable melt flow rate, improving product precision and consistency.
Compact Structure: Small size and lightweight, facilitating easy installation and mobility.
Reliable Operation: Utilizes high-quality materials and precision manufacturing processes to ensure long-term stable operation of the pump.
Wear-Resistant and Durable: Capable of operating under high temperatures and pressures, with excellent wear resistance and durability.

Applications:
Miniature melt metering pumps are widely used in the conveyance, pressurization, and metering of high-temperature, high-viscosity polymer melts such as plastics, resins, and rubbers. They play an important role in plastic processing industries such as pelletizing, film, pipe, and sheet production.
