The melt pump is a positive displacement conveying device whose working principle primarily relies on the change in working volume caused by the meshing of the driving and driven gears to convey the melt. As the gears rotate in the specified direction, the melt enters the tooth spaces of the two gears in the feed area. With the rotation of the gears, the melt is carried into the conveying area. When the gears mesh again, the melt in the tooth spaces is squeezed out into the discharge area and pressed into the outlet pipeline. Due to the continuous rotation of the pump shaft, the gears continuously press the melt towards the outlet side, enabling the pump outlet to reach very high pressures.
